Jan Weaver
has been with Morning Star since November 2000. Jan’s
previous adoption related employment was with Adoption Law Center and later
Michigan Adoption Center. She was instrumental in changing the Michigan
adoption laws in 1995 and has served in many capacities with the now defunct Family Tree
support group. Jan is an adoptive parent with two children. She earned a
Business Administration Degree from Michigan State University. Jan loves to
travel, spend time with her kids and her husband. She also enjoys the great
outdoors. Her favorite place to be (when she’s not at Morning Star) is up north. Jan
believes that you should “live every day as if today were your last.”
Lou Taylor,
Adoption Supervisor
Lou Taylor
joined Morning Star in December 2002. She has over thirty years experience in
adoption and, until now, has worked for the Family Independence Agency with
older children who have been neglected and abused. Lou holds a degree in
Sociology from Oakland University. She is an asset to our staff as her vast adoption and
social work experience enhances our insights into all types of adoption issues.
Her kind and gentle nature appeals to our clients and staff alike. Lou is
married to a photographer and has two adult children. She enjoys spending her free time reading, cooking,
watching Red Wing games, and playing cards. Her favorite quote is: “Let me know
what’s going on, okay?”
Marilyn Ruedisueli,
Adoption Coordinator
Marilyn Ruedisueli has seen lots of changes in the adoption world since she began with Morning Star in 1990. After a career as an Office Manager for a large trucking company, then a stay-at-home mom, she answered a little ad for part-time help at an adoption agency and has been with Morning Star ever since. Marilyn's vast knowledge of the international adoption process allows her to answer questions that some international agencies are not able to answer! She is also the staff member you most often have the opportunity to speak with during our one-on-one meetings. As an adoptive mom of two children, she loves helping make all of the “happy ending stories”. When she is not at the office, Marilyn enjoys camping with her family, reading, “playing on the Internet” and coordinating the Wednesday evening Children’s Ministry at her church. Her favorite quote is: “Forget the whales, save the children.”
